IIS Aid

Back in August I touched on the subject of a module that I am developing with a few other people. Well, it is still in development, and even better it is I feel very close to being ready for a production environment. I think this module will become one of, if not THE best article management modules available for the Xoops CMS. And I would very much expect this module to become a fairly major drawcard to the Xoops CMS overall. As always though, one final major hurdle lies between this module and a public release.

Unfortunately this is money. Although both my business partner and I gave our time for free as it is our module, the plain facts are developers need to pay their bills, which means getting paid. In total, this module has cost my business partner and I over $1000 Australian, and if this module is to go public then we will need the help of the Xoops cummunity to help absorb this cost. We are most certainly not looking to make money out of this module, just relieve the outlay that we have both had to make from our own pocket. I think it only fair that those wanting to use it should contribute to the development costs.

Anyway, stayed tuned as very soon there will be a demo site launched which will showcase the module where you can get in and use all the different admin and user functions. This site will also be the base for tracking pledges and donations towards releasing this module. Then hopefully, once all the pledges and Donations are collected it will be sufficient to cover enough of the development costs to warrant a public release. Watch this space :-) !
