REQUEST_URI fix for FastCGI on IIS 7

The IIS team have just released an update for FastCGI on IIS 7 that changes the behaviour of the REQUEST_URI server variable to ensure compatibility with popular PHP applications. These changes are;

  • REQUEST_URI server variable now includes the query string information which fixes the problem I wrote about last month regarding using Drupal on IIS 7.
  • REQUEST_URI server variable now includes the originally requested URL path before any URL rewriting takes place. This fixes an issue when using URL rewriting with Wordpress.

You can download these updates for your respective version of Windows 2008 Server from here.

As Always, make sure you test before you implement these updates on a production environment as it may effect the operation of other PHP applications.
