Improved Site Performance
I must say that the site has become faster than it used to be.It now takes 3seconds to load as oppsed to 40sec that i used to wait before the site would load.

Yeah, site performance has certainly come a LONG way since the site first went up. Only step I can see from here is to move to a pure CSS based theme, which is well beyond my skillset. Thanks or the feedback and the compliments sibusisom :-), great to know that there is a noticeable difference.
So, if I may ask, what are some of the specific things you did to accomplish the site performance improvement? Probably would make a good article...

Nothing ground breaking Chappy :-) . I just went nuts with reducing HTTP requests and reduced the content as much as I could. I used the IBM Page Detailer utility quite extensively to do this. The theme I am using now isn't as lean as my last one, but I am thinking of migrating this site to a dedicated hosting provider anyway, but we'll see how we go.
