MTA Services keeps on stopping

I have a problem on Exchange 5.5 running on Windows 2000 Server SP4 where my MTA service keeps on stopping.It has been working fine all along but now it started to do funny things.

Could anyone please help.

What patches have you installed recently? If the MTA's are stopping there should be some notification as to why in the event logs.

Thanx Brash,the article referred me to Exchange Service Pack 4.I downloaded the Service pack but i haven't installed it yet.I will let you know on the progress.

Thanks for the link, I took a closer look on Microsoft support and I found it very useful. Let's hope that I can use it as a basis for solving these issues, I also have to contact my network server to see what's going on.
