Choosing an ISP to best suit your needs can be very difficult. To date I have been using Internode's 512/512 SDSL connection which is very reliable do to it being configured as bridged ethernet, but likewise is also very expensive.
Swiftel now offer services in Melbourne, and have a SDSL plan with the same bandwidth, twice the included monthly data, and all at 60% of the cost of my Internode plan. Only drawbacks is the Swiftel SDSL plans don't use bridged ethernet and thus aren't as reliable as Internodes SDSL offerings, and from what I can gather customer support is a couple of notches below what Internode offer.
Still, as this cost is footed entirely by my back pocket, the saving offered by switching to Swiftel is more than just appealing, and is something I cannot ignore. All things going well I should have made the switch by the end of the month.
