I dont know if Im the only one who is doing this but Im very certain that there are other guys who do the same thing that I do, well it helps for me . Im currently running two untivirus programs on one machine.I have both Norton and AVG installed on my e-mail server and to tell you the truth, this is where you get to see that one benefits from this exercise. What happened is that days after Netsky was launched there was a lot of mail traffic heading towards my users and Norton was able to pick up the virus from the attachment but AVG did not see anything wrong with the messages(luckily the messages where automatically deleted by Norton),then one of my fellow workers brought a disk from home that had a worm and he tried to e-mail the infected file so Norton did not see anything wrong with the mail but AVG silently cleaned the attachment let the mail go through and sent me an alert to say that the virus was cleaned and mail was let through.
So in a nutshell this exercise has helped me a lot,I dont know what other guys think.
I think you can never have too much protection these days. The way I look at it is as long as any security solution that works can be implemented without adding too much complexity to your environment, and without impeding the performance, then it's all good. Thanks for sharing sibusisom :-) .
