I have tried on numerous occassions to install PHP with apache on a windows machine, but only once have I managed to get it working... once it was working, it quickly fell over so I obviously did something wrong. A mate then introduced me to IIS-AID and I couldn't believe just how easy it was. I didn't have to specify ports, I don't have to start and stop IIS or Apache because both can't use the same port at the same time; I didn't understand how to specify a port! Download and try it. You won't regret it!
